In 2002, Scott Koblyk walked away from his salary, his benefits, his pension plan and his career. He planned to live an impoverished existence, be startlingly physically fit and write until his head was bereft of ideas. Then the phone started ringing. People wanted speeches and presentations and ghost-written reports. They wanted to trade money for Scott’s facility with the English language and suddenly, unintentionally, Scott had a house and a German automobile. This is fine if you like furniture and driving, but bad if your head is still full of unexpressed ideas. |
Once an award-winning humour columnist, Scott returns to his writing roots and begins the process of head-emptying with his weekly column on www.sundaymonkey.ca. He also continues to grind out what will surely be the Great Canadian Novel, or not. |
